Lion Ted Tozer has over four decades of experience in residential mortgage finance and
housing policy, with a lifelong commitment to community service. Originally from Ohio, Ted spent several years in Washington, D.C., where his work with a major mortgage company evolved into a pivotal role shaping federal housing policy. His passion for helping individuals achieve homeownership led him to a seven-year tenure in the nation’s capital, establishing housing policy.

After seeking a location with moderate weather and four distinct seasons, Ted and his wife settled in Waxhaw, North Carolina. His dedication to service found a natural home in the Lions Club, an organization aligned with his values of community support and engagement.

Ted’s journey in civic leadership began with the Jaycees in Ohio, where he first actively pursued community service until transitioning to the Lions Club at age 40. He quickly became an integral part of a vibrant club that included local leaders such as the school principal, mayor, and superintendent. His leadership roles have included zone chair, club president, and treasurer. Following a brief pause during his time in D.C., Ted rejoined the Lions upon moving to Waxhaw, where he has since served as club president, treasurer, service chair, and multiple terms as the Lions District 31-O Global Membership Team chair.

Ted values the Lions Club not only for its impact on the community but also for the social connections and camaraderie it fosters. His blend of professional expertise and heartfelt service continues to make a lasting difference in Waxhaw and beyond.
