Flying Beyond

The Waxhaw Lions Club.

Where There's A Need. There's A Lion.

Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest service club organization with more than 1.4 million members in 200 countries across the globe. Here in Waxhaw, members are very active in programs that increase access to eye care services, including KidSight™ eye screening for children and the collection of used eyeglasses. 100% of funds raised by Lions Clubs are used to benefit charities and local community programs.

Helping Others

Disaster Relief

Support Those In Need

Whenever and wherever disaster strikes, Lions are often among the first to offer aid. Lions Club is ready to support their efforts with funding assistance through global disaster relief programs.

Improving Lives

Diabetes

Making A Difference

Lions from around the world fight for better diabetes relief. We run initiatives and programs to improve the lives of those living with diabetes and helping others from developing type two diabetes.

Impacting Our Community

Hunger

Providing Meals & Nutrition

Hunger is a problem without borders. We’re offering grants, programs, and initiatives to help Lions make huge strides in providing meals and nutrition for those in need.

Sustainable Future

Environment

The Earth Sustains Human Life.

From recycling programs to ensuring all areas have access to clean water, we’re working hard to keep the earth in its best condition.

Improving Outcomes

Childhood Cancer

Being A Help Agent

Provides funding support to Lions and has developed strategic partnerships to help improve outcomes for children with cancer. 57% of childhood cancer cases go undiagnosed in parts of the world.

KidSight.

1 billion people live with vision impairment that could have been prevented or can be corrected.

KidSight is a free vision screening program where Waxhaw Lions Club volunteers conduct vision screening sessions at pre-schools and other early childhood centers.

It is as simple as having your child’s picture taken. Local Lions Club Members use a PlusOptix camera, a vision screening device that is 85%-90% accurate in detecting vision problems.

We Serve.

Making A Great Place To Live Even Better.

Whenever a Lions Club gets together, problems get smaller – and communities get better. That’s because we help where help is needed – in our own communities and around the world – with unmatched integrity and energy.

Lions are service-minded men and women who are interested in improving their communities. We are younger and older people, families, and singles. To become a Lion means being an active volunteer, a member of a highly respected global organization, a leader in your community, and a friend to people in need.

Truly caring bunch of folks, with a hard focus on local and world-wide humanity. It's plain to see that the Waxhaw Lions have what it takes to 'bridge the gap between nothing and something' and 'Being the change in what we want to see in the world today

Kathryn Williams, M.Ed., NCC

School Counselor,

I can't thank the Lion's Club enough for their support of our school and our students. The school supplies are distributed to students who would otherwise not have the needed supplies throughout the day. The calming kits have been distributed to all classrooms and the teachers' responses have been incredible. They are so appreciative of these tools to assist students with self-regulation. These tools along with the posters provided will help our students learn to regulate themselves when they have overwhelming feelings. Thank you for this wonderful gift to all of our K-3 classrooms.

The Lion's club of Waxhaw is a great asset to the community! They were able to get me some much needed supplies for my health office to help better serve the students and staff.
